Ombré lips are not as easy and simple as they appear. You have to have the right combination of colors put together and the perfect ratio of each to achieve Tik Tok-worthy results! I saw a Tik Tok of this girl creating an Ombré Lip on herself and naturally, I was shocked....
This is my shocked face 😂
So Of course I had to give it a try. To achieve the best combination, select three lipsticks that compliment one another. Combinations like yellow, orange, and pink or even pink, lilac, and dark purple. The best part about an Ombré lip is that you don't have to just stick with the traditional three colors. A two-color lip combination can work well also.
Watch me attempt this Ombré lip in the video below and shop to achieve some of my favorite Ombré lip combinations!
Outside In Purple Ombré Lip
I am OBSESSED with the gorgeous combination of pink and purple. The two colors as an Ombré lip are bound to be stellar! To achieve the look in the image above, start with the darkest color to outline the lip and work your way into the center of the lip with the lightest color.
Use the NYX Liquid Suedé lipstick in the shade Lavender on the outline of your lips.
Use the NYX soft liquid suedé lipstick in the shade Cyprus. It's a light pastel pink that will brighten up the center of the lip.
Summer Vibes Ombré Lip
Give me a lolly pop and some lip gloss honey b/c this ombré lip right here is POPPIN'! There's nothing more summery than gold, orange, and pink with a bit of shimmer. This lip look is a bit advanced, but If you're trying to pop that summer bikini with a matching lip look, this is it! I believe in you babes, give it a try!
To achieve this look, you're going to need three colors. Two on top and one on the bottom. Plus a bit of shimmer to make it shine. Here's everything you need and a step-by-step on how to achieve the look.
The Top Lip
Use the NYX wicked lippie lipstick in the color Mischievous as the first layer on the top lip.
The NYX liquid suedé in the color Orange County is your next layer on the top lip. Take a lip swab and pat it into your lip lightly with your finger. You should still be able to see the gold peaking through.
The Bottom Lip
For the bottom lip apply Revlon's Luscious Mattes lipstick in the color Heart Breaker. This Fuschia color is a show stopper and going to bring the entire look to life!
Finally, to finish the entire look, apply a gloss to the top and bottom lip. The secret to not smudging the ombré effect is to use two separate lipstick applicators. One for the top lip and one for the bottom. One of my favorite clear glosses is the NYX Butter Gloss.
