Should You Watch Look Both Ways on Netflix?

After watching Look Both Ways on Netflix, we’ll definitely (metaphorically) look both ways from now on.

This movie really showed the ups and downs of life, especially when you have

this idea or plan in your head about how you want things to end up and where you see yourself five or ten years down the road and it doesn’t look how you expect it to.

The movie displayed a great depiction of how there’s no perfect path to accomplishing your dreams.

The main character Natalie (played by Lili Reinhart) reaches a moment on graduation night that she may or may not be pregnant and half of the movie follows her as a mother and then the other half of the movie is if she had never gotten pregnant at all.

The one thing this movie does so well is remind people that it’s OK to have things in your life happen that aren’t a part of your plan.

That at the end of the day, sometimes your goals get put on hold because other things in life pop up. It doesn’t mean it’s wrong or it’s what’s “not supposed to happen,” it’s just life.

Look Both Ways truly shows that if you keep working towards accomplishing those goals that they’re going to happen and that there’s no one way for it to happen.

Let’s talk About style:

The makeup, hair, and styling–particularly on Aisha Dee (Cara)–was absolutely incredible.

In every role she plays, her vibe is always so modern and effortless.

We were also obsessed with Nia Long’s character Lucy who’s fashion was always so full of power and really fit her character’s sophisticated, and boss personality!

Not to mention she is just a beautiful woman.

The fashion style in this movie is so refreshing and comes with an older, 90s vibe.

Which we’re seeing in a lot of movies and shows recently.

The dopamine culture that’s happening right now in fashion and beauty is 100% showcased in this movie.

From the accessories that were in her bantu knots to the multicolored waves on Cara’s eyeshadow–it’s just gorgeous! It’s now. It’s fresh. It’s vibrant. It’s playful and we love that the movie did that.

Speaking of vibrant, Aisha Dee’s character definitely took the cake with eyeshadow looks.

Especially in the brunch scene with Lili Reinhart’s character with her pink and white eye-look.

With all that said, even though we love the colors and fashion in this movie…would we really recommend you spend two hours watching it?

If you are a freshly graduated college student in your 20s watching this movie is almost MANDATORY! Whether you’re stressed about your own five year plan or you’re not sure you’re even on the right path, this movie can certainly relieve some of the stress.

Things in life are going to happen but Look Both Ways is a great movie to help you remember to continue following your dreams and go after what you want in life, even if it’s not what you expected.
